Dr Disrespect Resolves Issues With Twitch But Won't Return

In recent posts to Twitter, popular video game streamer Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm explains that he has resolved his issues with Twitch, but will not return to the platform. Beahm quickly became one of the most popular streamers on the live-streaming platform after amassing a major following. Unfortunately in the summer of 2020, Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch under mysterious circumstances. The ban seemingly came out of nowhere and shocked many of Beahm’s fans.

Neither Twitch nor Dr Disrespect explained the exact reason for the permanent ban, and it has left many to question what caused the rift between both parties. The only official reason Twitch gave was that Beahm had violated the company’s guidelines or terms of service. After a short break, Dr Disrespect reactivated his YouTube channel and returned to streaming via the online video sharing service. A year after the ban was enacted, Beahm stated that he was actually aware of the reason the platform had permanently banned him and that he was pursuing a lawsuit against Twitch.

Today, Dr Disrespect posted to his Twitter a series of tweets explaining that after resolving his issues with Twitch, he will not be returning to the platform. The first tweet is an image of a signed statement made by the streamer that says, “I have resolved my legal dispute with Twitch. No party admits to any wrongdoing.” The Doc added in another tweet that he would not be returning to Twitch.

Dr Disrespect’s tweets come as a surprise to many fans. Though it is not surprising to see Beahm claim that he will not be working with Twitch in the future, it is surprising that he claims that all the issues with Twitch have been resolved, especially since he had previously stated that he was suing the platform giant. This supposed truce between Twitch and Dr Disrespect may be a way of the streamer trying to clean up his image. Dr Disrespect recently launched a new AAA studio called Midnight Society with other veteran Call of Duty developers. Midnight Society has stated that it is dedicated to including influencers and gaming communities in the development process of a game. As this is the case, Dr Disrespect’s studio will want to attract talent from the gaming community, and Beahm’s image could very well influence the level of attraction.

Despite fans and the gaming community wanting to know the actual reason behind Dr Disrespect’s ban from Twitch, it now seems that the streamer is trying his best to bury the hatchet. Perhaps the reason will be revealed in the future, but until then, it looks like Beahm will focus on Midnight Society.
