Man killed in Newport Beach shooting identified as an Arizona resident

NEWPORT BEACH — A man who allegedly forced his way into a Newport Beach home and was fatally shot by someone inside was a resident of Tucson, Arizona, authorities said Saturday.
The man was identified as 23-year-old Henry Lehr, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Police were called just before 4:15 a.m. Thursday to Indus Street and Redlands Drive regarding a report of a man with “mental health issues” or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Heather Rangel, a spokeswoman for Newport Beach police.
Lehr forced his way into a nearby residence and was shot by an occupant as officers responded to the call, Rangel alleged. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
